Career Development Cell: The Path to Success

Career Development Cell: The Path to Success

One of the core values of IZee, one of the top B schools in Bangalore, is to equip students with the practical knowledge and experience they require in the real world. Accordingly, IZee has a career development cell that aims to upskill the institute’s students. Recently, the cell conducted a career development program to carve a path for students’ success.

The director of the career development cell, Rani Srinivas, led the entire session in style. The session was entirely planned, similar to how the session concluded. The program started with an assessment test curated by Ma’am Rani. The assessment test was designed for students to self-evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Reflecting on the experience, the students remarked, “her way of teaching is very innovative and creative; it helps a lot.” In little technical terms, they did a SWOT analysis: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis. This clarifies what we can leverage and what we need to work on. As Mrs. Rani highlights, the next step is to set up a plan of action (POA) that helps develop skills and work on their weaknesses, eventually enabling them to pick the right career. Students describe the experience as “a game.” Noting down the strengths and weaknesses and personalized attention by the director of CDC makes all the difference.
The career development cell aimed to upskill the students at IZee and equip them with abilities to navigate through the competitive real world without any difficulties. The focus was on the three main areas: the student’s current skill, knowledge, and opportunities. The CDC does not focus on giving new knowledge to the students but on making them aware of the usage of the knowledge that they already have. Mrs. Rani, as most of the students describe, takes a friendly route in upskilling the students, which is what actually works for the youth at the best MBA college in Bangalore. Conducting such events is normal for IZee Business School, and they will only take up a notch for the next event.
