Business Plan Workshop: Interpolating the Financial Structures

Just as IZee, one of the top MBA colleges in Bangalore, organised a guest session for the academics of the BCA program, it was time for business enthusiasts to gain insights into the industry. A business plan workshop with a specific niche in finance was up for the MBA students. An exclusive webinar on sharpening financial tool kits on the 29th of September between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM preceded the workshop. However, the students on campus were up for a surprise. The financial seminar was coming to the IZee Business School on the 3rd and 4th of October.

Kamini Sawlani, the finance manager at Mankara Technologies Pvt. Ltd., led the workshop. She distilled her more than seven years of experience in the sessions. She highlighted the role of a business plan in the growth of a business: how it’s the foundation of every business. She slowly transitioned from a business plan to the finance element, remarking that finance is the breath of all companies. When asked about the advice she would pass on to the upcoming talents from IZee, she said, “My only advice to them would be to be open to feedback. There is no age when you should stop learning. Keep upskilling and keep learning.” She backed her advice when she explained how an MBA degree is just the basis of a career, periodical pursuit of courses and certifications. In short, a student should possess determination, a love of numbers, and a constant approach to learning for a successful career in the finance sector. Talking about the industry’s future, she commented on the matter of finance technology (FinTech) and its matter of data security. A practical exercise accompanied the session. The students were divided into groups and expected to develop a business plan encompassing every nitty-gritty of the business, from capital allocation to other financial metrics.

Some students collectively reflected on the workshop, “The experience was amazing.” They further added that to learn about business in the practical context was a great incorporation in the workshop. Overall, Ma’am Kamini Sawlani added a lot of value with alignment to IZee Business School’s teaching methodology. She concluded, “It was a delight to guide the upcoming stars. I am astonished that so many of students are interested in business and finance, two areas which are usually considered boring. Hoping to see some of them shine bright.”
